Back to School/Stay in School Committee:

Helps with preparing, inspiring and instructing youth of all ages with the tools necessary to graduate high school.

Communication, Press and Publicity Committee:

Seeks to promote media consistent with fundamental NAACP goals which include the elimination of racial isolation and fear and the furtherance of multiracial and cultural understanding.

Community Coordination Committee:

Enlists the support of other community organizations on issues affecting the interests of African-Americans and other communities of color.

Economic Development:

Implements local efforts and supports national programs to preserve and expand empowerment among African-Americans and other communities of color.

Education Committee:

Seeks to eliminate segregation and other discriminatory practices in public education.

Finance Committee:

Consists of the President, Treasurer, and at least one other member. It shall study the financial needs of the Unit and shall be responsible for drafting an adequate budget.

Freedom Fund/Civil Rights Celebration Committee:

Plans and conducts fundraising activities, entertainment and other projects, for local and national purposes within the scope of the Association’s program.

Health Committee:

Works to promote, protect, and maintain the health of African-Americans.

Labor and Industry Committee:

Seeks ways to improve the economic status of minority groups.

Membership Committee:

Works throughout the year to maintain and increase the membership of the Association.

Legal Redress Committee:

Investigates all all cases reported to it,  supervises all litigation in which the Unit is interested, and keeps the National Office and Branch informed on the progress of every case.

Court Watch:

Investigates court cases of members to ensure that civil liberties are not violated.

Criminal Justice:

Investigates alleged violations of African-Americans and other minorities rights within the criminal justice system.

Political Action Committee:

Seeks to increase registration and voting.

Religious Affairs Committee:

Promotes an educational programs designed to give moral and ethical interpretation to the civil rights struggle.
